Unity AR Installation

RICHARD PAYNE: UNITY – AR INSTALLATION

Be in the ‘first ever’ to post selfies from an alternative dimension! Experience AR art by Melbourne ARtist Richard Payne.

Immerse yourself in this unprecedented AR art experience redefining art and reality - but it’s invisible without the key.
Hidden on the lawn between the Arts Centre Melbourne and the Hamer Hall from 14 – 30 April with free 24/7 access, is ‘UNITY’ - Richard Payne’s beautiful, building sized Augmented Reality art installation.

What is the key that lets you access it? Get the free App ‘Aura AR’ onto your smartphone then explore the ACM lawn location to become engulfed in this awesome AR piece with mind blowing, sparking energy overlaying 3D reality. Tip: Take decent headphones for the full trip.

Payne’s Unity celebrates the uniqueness of the individual whilst realising a vision of unified diversity of all kinds: things, people, cultures and philosophies. This flowing work uses the metaphor of primaries of light; Red, Green, Blue with Black & White as symbolic of all things.

Step into a coloured zone to be engulfed by its visual beauty paired with integrated music, view out through that colour onto the rest of the installation and beyond to the real-world. Metaphorically, our view of the world is filtered by our philosophy, history and position.

The central sphere is a symbol of multiculturalism and unification. What’s inside the main sphere? Have the courage to step through its seemingly impenetrable wall into a new existence.

In collaboration with Taylors and composer Probir Dutt, ARtist Richard Payne explores transcending individuality whilst harmonising with others. The Aura AR App also lets you be creative by taking amazing selfies from inside your favourite colour!!!

Inside the artwork, you are simultaneously an active part of the Unity art installation and an active part of the real-world, multicultural Australian experience. Post your selfie to add to the art emerging...Art and reality merged.

The Aura AR App will let you see future AR installations so don’t delete it yet!
